Completing your onboarding tasks

Your onboarding is a checklist grouped into phases. Here's how to work through it — review documents, finish your courses, and mark each task complete.

When you're hired, your agency assigns you an onboarding checklist — the set of tasks you need to finish to be ready for work. Everything lives in one place, My Onboarding Journey, and this guide walks you through it start to finish.

If you haven't logged in yet, do that first — see Logging in and setting up your profile. Then open Onboarding to find your journey.

Read your journey by phase

Your tasks are grouped into phases that follow your first weeks: Pre-Hire, Day One, First Week, First Month, and Ongoing. Each phase shows its own progress, so you always know what's next and how far you've come.

Work top to bottom. Finishing the early phases is usually what unlocks the later ones.

Available vs. blocked tasks

Not every task is ready at once. Each task has a status:

  • Available — ready for you now, with a Complete button.
  • Blocked — waiting on something else first. You'll see Waiting on: … naming what has to happen before it opens up.

A blocked task isn't a problem — it just isn't your turn yet. When the task it depends on is finished, yours opens automatically and you'll see a note that new tasks were unlocked.

Handle documents and courses

Some tasks ask you to do something before you can mark them done.

  1. If a task lists Documents to Review, open and read each one.
  2. If a task shows LMS Course Required, take the linked course. Finishing the course auto-completes the task for you — you don't mark it done by hand.
  3. Some tasks may ask you to sign a document. See Signing documents in My Signatures.
Tasks linked to a course complete themselves the moment you pass the course. If one still looks open, give it a minute and refresh — you don't need to click Complete on it.

Mark a task complete

For a task that's ready and doesn't complete on its own:

  1. Open the available task.
  2. Do what it asks — read the document, confirm the step, whatever it describes.
  3. Tap Complete.

That task closes, your phase progress moves up, and any tasks that were waiting on it may open. Keep going until every phase reads as done.

If a task is stuck

If you're waiting on someone else, or a task lists a document or course you can't find, tell your admin or HR contact. They can see your whole checklist, check what a task is waiting on, and clear the blocker on their end. See Assigning and tracking staff onboarding for the admin side.

That's your onboarding

Work each phase in order, finish your documents and courses, and mark the available tasks Complete. When the whole journey shows finished, you're set up and ready for your first shift.
