Requesting time off

Ask for days off right from the schedule. Pick your dates, add a reason, and submit — your manager reviews it, and approved time off keeps you off the schedule.

When you know you'll be away — a vacation, an appointment, a day you just can't work — you don't have to text your manager and hope it's remembered. Request the time off right inside Enmantle. Your manager reviews it, and once it's approved, the schedule knows not to put you on shift.

This is different from your availability, which is your standing weekly pattern. Time off is a specific request for specific dates.

Open My Time Off

From the schedule, open the Tools menu and choose My Time Off. You'll land on a page titled My Time Off where you can request days and see every request you've made.

Submit a request

Under Request time off, fill in the dates:

  1. Pick your First day off.
  2. Pick your Last day off. For a single day, set both to the same date.
  3. Add a Reason (optional) if you like — something short like "Vacation" or "Appointment" helps your manager.
  4. Leave All day checked to take the whole day (or the whole range) off. To request only part of the day, uncheck it and set the From and To times — that window applies to each day in the range.
  5. Tap Submit request.

You'll see "Time off requested — your manager will review it," and the request appears in your list below marked Pending.

There's no PTO, sick, or unpaid category to choose — Enmantle keeps it simple. Just pick your dates, and use the Reason line if you want to say why.

A couple of things the form won't let you do, on purpose: you can't request a date in the past, and you can't submit a request that overlaps one you already have pending or approved. If that happens, adjust your dates and try again.

What the statuses mean

Every request carries one of four statuses, shown as a badge in your list:

  • Pending — submitted and waiting on your manager.
  • Approved — you're cleared to be off, and the schedule will keep you off those days.
  • Denied — not approved. The Decision column shows the reason your manager gave.
  • Cancelled — withdrawn, either by you or by a manager.

What happens after you submit

Your managers are notified right away — in the app and by email — that you have a request waiting. You'll also get a confirmation email that your request was submitted and is pending review.

When a decision is made, you get another notification and email. Open My Time Off any time to check the status yourself; approvals and denials both show up there, with the manager's note in the Decision column.

Once time off is approved, it protects you automatically. Whoever builds the schedule can't put you on a shift during those dates — you're blocked in the assignment picker, and your approved days show as a marked band right on the schedule grid. No follow-up needed from you.

Need to cancel a request?

Changed your plans while a request is still Pending? Open My Time Off and tap Cancel on that row. It flips to Cancelled and your managers no longer see it in their queue.

Already approved and now you can work after all? Reach out to your manager — they can cancel approved time off from their side, which frees those days back up on the schedule.
